
In 2014, Swami Sivamurti, formed called the ‘Hellenic Union of Teachers (ENOSI) trained in the Satyananda system of yoga’ to unite the dedicated teachers and instructors trained in the Satyananda system of Yoga.
The aims being one, to unite the teachers in Greece and two, to safeguard the integrity, authenticity and the high quality of the teachings and three, to upgrade teaching skills in the Sangha TD courses held in Athens and Thessaloniki and four, to keep the connection with the Paiania ashram, from where all teachers and instructors have received their training and, five to keep the connection with the spiritual source of the teachings of the Satyananda Yoga/Bihar Yoga tradition in BSY, Munger, India. The teacher’s union currently has 110 members.

Teachers’ Sangha (TD)
Teachers’ SANGHA is a relatively new project which was initiated by Swami Sivamurti Saraswati in 2018 in different cities in Greece where there are teachers or instructors trained in the Satyananda system of Yoga. The goal of the SANGHA is to unite the teachers and instructors, teaching the Satyananda system of yoga and inspire them to continually upgrade their knowledge and, commit themselves regularly to sadhana, to enable them to have their own experience of the Satyananda Yoga techniques and further deepen their knowledge of the teachings of Satyananda Yoga.
These sessions will enable all the teachers trained in the Satyananda System of Yoga to:
a) Upgrade their knowledge on all the aspects of yoga
b) Connect with the parampara, and the teachings of Satyananda yoga
c) Find suitable and creative ways to present this knowledge to their students
d) Work on developing self-discipline, personal practice (sadhana) and on the assignments which will be given during each session
e) Apply the philosophy and psychology of yoga in everyday life - in other words to move to the next stage - Yogic Lifestyle
f) Find out more about the new research on yoga and to make their own research into different aspects of yoga
g) Specialize in an area of their personal interest
In order to achieve this, 3 1/2 - 4 hour sessions will be conducted monthly.

At the end of each academic year, a teachers’ symposium is organized in the ashram or at some other venue, where all the teachers and instructors from all over Greece meet and share their experiences and one is given further guidelines in relation to their own sadhana, study and teaching.
